Meet The Creator

My name is SHWETA CHELLARAM and I'm the founder of THE POPSICLE STUDIO.

I have always loved the arts. Music, performing arts, visual arts, you name it. My whole life, since I was a little girl, I have always enjoyed playing with paint, papers, glue, glitter, clay and all the possibilities these different materials would let me create. I am fortunate enough to have a very artistic mother and a great home full of magic.

I drew and painted my way through childhood, then went on to study Art and Design at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology.

My first job after graduating was at a Design Firm and then I started my own label and specialised in Bridal Couture, although I later left the Design world to be a full-time mom to my two lovely kids!

After my son was born, my interest in art was revitalised and I realised that I wanted to raise him in an art-rich environment and to encourage his creativity and imagination as much as possible.

Guided by the ideas I came across, I started a Toddler Art Group with several other moms and their toddlers. We met weekly and did everything from body painting and paper maché bowls to printing with flowers and making our own puffy paint. We also returned to the basics (painting, drawing, and collaging) again and again.

After years of research, classes, books and workshops, I opened my very own Children's Art Studio. My mission is to inspire children of all ages to use art as a magical tool to a happy, creative and fun life, enjoying the process and all the possibilities available!
